OK, speed up 12 years. We all know about Drake’s popularity. His debut, Thank Me Later, came out this past spring, and believe it or not, it’s not out of the realm of possibility that Drizzy could come right back with another album just in time for Christmas.
“Drake’s crazy,” Young Money president Mack Maine told MTV News last week. “He’s doing a mixtape right now. He called me one night, like 2 in the morning. He has the intro done for the new album. We was discussing dates where he should come back. That’ll be soon. And this mixtape, he’s gonna put that out quick. His formula is crazy. He works fast. I can’t give the secret away to the formula. He’s a musical genius. The way he and [producer] 40 put things together is crazy.”

…which is not only great because the two acts it’s mashing-up actually sounds like an enticing musical marriage on paper, but the ten-track results are all songs we wouldn’t be embarrassed to blast in our cars…with the windows rolled down

With one month to go before Drake’s highly-anticipated debut Thank Me Later drops, more details on the project are beginning to surface. Lil Wayne’s protégé recently revealed that the album will open with his Alicia Keys collaboration “Fireworks.” Entertainment Weekly had a chance to preview the disc. According to Hot 107.9 this is the official rumored cover for Drake’s anticipated album, Thank Me Later, hitting stores on June 15th.
Fans of Drake’s are going to be treated to a preview of yet another track off of his Thank Me Later LP, dropping June 15, when they go to his Away From Home Tour this spring. The 23-year-old is performing the first verse of the much-anticipated new song “Fireworks” at his concerts.
