Did Drake and Nicki Minaj get married, or is this a big joke on Twitter? Tons of fans are going crazy about the recent tweets from Drake and Nicki Minaj. Young Money prince and princess tweeted just minutes ago about them supposedly getting hitched secretly, and all their followers are in a re-tweeting frenzy. Nicki Minaj wrote, “Yes, its true. Drake and I tied the knot.”

A little bit after, Drake tweeted, “Please refer to @nickiminaj as Mrs. Aubrey Drake Graham and don’t stare at her too long, She’s finally mine. ”. Sources close to both artist would not confirm or talk about anything.
Can it really be, what do you think about this?
Aaliyah’s 9th anniversary since the tragic accident was yesterday. Drake has tremendous love for Aaliyah, he even has a portrait hung up in his apartment of of her. Drake wrote a letter to Aaliyah to share his thoughts to RapRadar.com.
Dear Dana,
I’ve never lost a parent, a friend, or a lover but I will never forget this day for the rest of my life. I remember getting the news that you had passed and it connected with my heart like a clean shot from Muhammad Ali. I was crushed. Not only was I one of your biggest fans but I was truly in love with you. I loved the way you carried yourself, the way you dressed, the confidence with which you addressed passion and relationships in your music. I said to myself that even if we never met, I wanted a woman in my life just like you. I am pained that we will never get to connect now that music ended up being my career path. But you should know, we all listen to you everyday and we remain inspired and moved by all that you’ve given the world. I hope I make the right life choices so I can end up in heaven where I know you rest your head. I’ll continue to make music in your honor until the day we finally meet. Dinner’s on me!
Love you always and forever,
Drake
Watch the extended version of the MTV VMA 2010 Drake promo. Drake brings some swagger and some class to these VMA promo commercials. Drake will be performing at the VMA’s. Don’t forget to catch the VMA 2010 live Sunday September 12, at 9pm EST.

It looks like fans will have to wait to catch Drake and Wiz Khalifa on the same bill.
In a much-watched Ustream convo with fans on Thursday, Drizzy extended an invitation to Khalifa to join his upcoming Light Dreams and Nightmares Tour. However, the Pittsburgh MC said he won’t be added to the Nightmares lineup, which also features Clipse and Bun B, and has decided to focus on his own Waken Baken string of dates. [Read more →]

Here are some promo pictures from Drake’s photo shoot with MTV Video Music Awards. The 27th Annual MTV Video Music Awards will air on Sunday, September 12th at 9:00PM from the Nokia Theater in Los Angeles, and Drizzy is nominated for “Best Hip Hop Video” and “Best Male Video“.
Drake is taking it way back for his 2010 MTV Video Music Awards promo.
Donning a dapper suit, complete with a gentlemanly pocket square, the singer and rapper is surrounded by midcentury glamour as he takes the mic for a commercial touting his VMA appearance. The Toronto lyricist makes a dramatic entrance under a brightly lit “Drake” marquee and steps onto a stage populated by a sprawling big band sporting white jackets.
“I get to channel my inner [Frank] Sinatra,” Drizzy — who is up for Moonmen for Best Hip-Hop Video and Best Male Video — said on the set. “In the acting world, you gotta have reference points. I like to get into characters.”
Sinatra isn’t the only legend that influences Drake’s gentlemanly style in the promo. The “Degrassi” actor-turned-chart-topping MC also looked to Denzel Washington’s troubled trumpeter in Spike Lee’s 1990 flick “Mo’ Better Blues.” [Read more →]

Drake is doing it big right now. The Toronto MC’s debut album, Thank Me Later, is platinum, he’s about to headline his upcoming Light Dreams and Nightmares Tour and he’s just notched 1 million Twitter followers. With that type of success, there’s probably very little that is out of the lyricist’s reach. But Drake revealed that there is one thing he wants that he hasn’t been able to secure yet: snagging Wiz Khalifa as his tourmate.
“I had a little bit of a fan moment, I tried to get this third cat on my tour,” Drizzy told more than 30,000 fans who logged on to check him out live on Ustream on Thursday (August 19). The broadcast came on the heels of the premiere of his “Miss Me” video with Lil Wayne.
Apparently, Drake was keeping his plan to add another act to his tour on the low. “You know we was trying to get Wiz on the tour,” he said, simultaneously informing listeners and his team who were hanging out in the room and clearly didn’t know what he was referring to. The MC then addressed his fans once again: “Hopefully, the Light Dreams [and] Nightmares Tour, depending on what city we go to, it’ll be Clipse, Bun B and Wiz Khalifa. That’s what I’m hoping. I don’t know, maybe I spoke too soon.”
Clipse were already confirmed to join the Young Money MC on the road, along with Houston O.G. Bun B, when the tour kicks off on September 20 in Miami. The chart-topping singer and rapper asked the “Hottest Breakthrough MC” directly about possibly joining the fall tour.
If Wiz by any chance watches this, you gotta make some calls for me and make this happen,” Drake said. “We got that young energy right now, we need to go out here and kill these people.
In addition to making his plea for a more Taylor Gang-friendly Light Dreams tour lineup, the MC said he really wants to work with producer 9th Wonder on the follow-up to Thank Me Later. [Read more →]

After giving his fans a chance to watch the premiere of the “Miss Me” music video, Drake reached out to his fans — literally — during a Ustream webcast from his Toronto apartment Thursday night (Aug. 19). Reka from Radio Now 100.9 and Indy’s Music Channel had a chance to sit down with Drake and talk in depth about Young Money, The Album, and The Future of this new artist named Drake.

TORONTO — Toronto rapper Drake is already among the world’s richest rappers.
According to Forbes Magazine, the 23-year-old — whose real name is Aubrey Graham — made US$10 million over the past year to place as the 11th highest-earning hip-hop artist.
The two-time Grammy nominee topped such industry veterans as Eminem, T.I. and 50 Cent. He was also the highest-earning newcomer on the list.
The magazine attributed Drake’s earning prowess to his record deal and advertising agreements with Sprite and Virgin America.
His debut, “Thank Me Later,” has been certified platinum in Canada and the U.S. since dropping in June.
Jay-Z unsurprisingly topped the list with a $63-million haul, followed by Sean (Diddy) Combs, Akon, Lil Wayne and Dr. Dre.

Drake’s Thank Me Later was produced mostly by his trusted collaborator Noah “40″ Shebib, but the Toronto lyricist ventured into the studio with an array of hip-hop beatsmiths for his debut, from Swizz Beatz to Kanye West.
One standout on the project was indie-rock act Francis and the Lights. Frontman Francis Farewell Starlite produced the second song on Thank Me Later, the muted “Karaoke.” [Read more →]

Lil Wayne‘s first single “Right Above It” featuring Drake is now on iTunes. This will be the first single off of Weezy‘s upcoming I Am Not A Human EP which is due out on Lil Wayne’s birthday, September 27th. Make sure to support and go buy your official copy now. The artwork for the single is awesome as well.
Always a gentleman, Drake smiled for the cameras and chatted briefly about his upcoming R&B mixtape and sophomore album at the BlackBerry Torch launch party in Los Angeles on Wednesday night (Aug. 11).
“I’m always accustomed to giving out free music, so I’m working on this new project for free and I’m also working on my second album,” said Drizzy, whose 2009 mixtape So Far Gone helped launch his hip-hop career.
While he didn’t drop any names of potential collaborators on the album, he did say “anything’s possible.”

To his great credit, Lil Wayne’s done a spectacular job of keeping this whole Rikers thing lighthearted. There’s the grateful blog posts, the ready-for-radio leaks, the truly insightful sports analysis, and a steady stream of cheery phone calls (e.g., “I got the penthouse suite up here at Rikers”). His team promised there would be a plan to maintain Weezy’s visibility while locked up, and they’ve executed it impressively as they work up to his fall release and a new EP, I’m Not a Human Being. Of course, the dude is still in jail, which means conversations like the one he had with Funkmaster Flex on Hot 97 last night are inevitable. After running through all the support he’s been getting from his fans, Wayne talks about staying in touch with the outside world:
I call Drake at least once a week, but I actually call three or four times a week, but he only picks up for me once a week,” the MC said with a laugh … Put in this position, I just feel like every time I pick up the phone to dial a number, I feel like I’m a bother, because I’m in jail. I don’t have nothing else to do but talk to you, and that might not be what you want to do at the time. I don’t know if that’s just a conscious thing, but … I always feel like I’m bothering. I call Mack Maine every single day, and I know I get on his nerves, but he answers every single time.
There’s nothing tragic about it, but Wayne sketching out some of the minor details of his isolated everyday life is pretty crushing nonetheless. Drake, pick up the damn phone! SOURCE

This is a previously unheard Drake track and by the sounds of things it’s not finished. No word as to whether this is a reference track or material that will eventually end up on Drakes forth-coming RnB Mixtape.
