Lil Wayne recently caught up with Billboard Magazine for an interview (he is on the current cover pictured above) and Drake was brought up in the process. Check out what Weezy had to say!

Billboard: How is Drake’s solo album coming along?

Lil Wayne: He’s one of those guys who needs no help, (laughs) I don’t do anything but say, “Let me hear that song.” And I’m blown away with every word. I’m honored to have him. Knowing Drake, I want to say he’s probably finished with the project. But he’s one of those guys who keeps going back to put more icing on the cake.

Rihanna’s fans are not the only ones rooting for her. One of her most famous supporters, hip-hop star Drake, has heard his peer’s new music and is sharing his excitement over her fresh start exclusively with

“Rihanna has a great album,” the 23-year-old rapper said after hearing the pop singer’s fourth effort Rated R. “She’s got great records that she’s using, she’s got great records that she’s not even using that she has for a later date. I’m excited for her. She deserves everything that she gets.”

Although he has nothing but positive things to say, Drizzy was surprised by the selection of “Russian Roulette” as the album’s first single. “It’s a cool little record. I don’t know if personally that’s the route I would’ve gone for a single choice,” he told “I can only say that because I’ve been around and heard the music that she’s coming with other than that record.”

“He’s kinda more concerned about getting as much music as he possibly can, so that when he’s in there, people are still satisfied musically with Lil Wayne product. That’s just the mind of a true businessman. I’ll just do what I can to keep the whole Young Money/ Cash Money team going. I just want to play my part as a team member and keep the brand strong until the boss gets home.”

At the Atlanta Civic Center, Young Jeezy — who often has high-profile guests to join him onstage — pulled off a huge move during the BET Hip-Hop Awards, kicking off the show by bringing out surprise guest Jay-Z. Hov and Young opened the show with “As Real As It Gets,” with the two hip-hop heavyweights going back and forth on verses. With the audience on their feet by song’s end, Jeezy said, “Welcome to Atlanta.”

Jay later took home the MVP of the Year award, beating out such popular peers as Lil Wayne and Drake. Hov dedicated his win to Mr. Magic, Snoop Dogg and Ice Cube. “Brooklyn, we did it again,” he said at the conclusion of his brief speech.

Other big winners announced during the show were Drake for Rookie of the Year and DJ AM for DJ of the Year.
