Tyrone (T-RexXx) Edwards will helm the new version of RapCity, which will launch Jan. 20 with Toronto rapper Drake as a guest.
MuchMusic also announced the Jan. 21 launch of #Trending, a new show that will focus on the latest in pop culture. Thursday, January 20th at 10 p.m. ET/PT on MuchMusic.

Complex.com caught up with Toronto producer T-Minus (born Tyler Williams), to discuss his involvement on Drake‘s sophomore album, Take Care. T-Minus is the producer producer for Nicki Minaj and Drake‘s “Moment 4 Life,” Ludacris‘ “How Low,” T.I. and Drake‘s “Poppin’s Bottles,” and more.
“I talk to Drake on a regular basis. Man, I’ve known Drake from a long time ago. I’ve known him since “Replacement Girl” days, me and Boi-1da produced that. But what happened was, because me and Boi-1da weren’t working that much together, and because Boi-1da was so close to Drake, we didn’t really get to talk as much. But about three months ago, we kind of hooked back up in L.A., and he invited me onto Take Care. We’re all working on his album; me, 40, and Boi-1da.
“I was just in the studio for three days in Toronto with Drake and T-Pain, trying to come up with some records. Drake just went on tour, so when he gets back we’re probably going to get back in the studio to do some more work. But his album is a work in progress. [The other day] I was up for 24 hours because we were at the studio the entire night.
“The new songs were a mix of [rapping and singing]. He actually just did a record in the studio with 40, and man it sounded crazy. It was more of a R&B record, and T-Pain was on it as well, but man, when that finished product comes out it’s going to be nuts. Right now, there’s no true direction [for Take Care]. I couldn’t tell you whether it’s going to be a lot of singing, or a lot of rapping, or a little of both. Right now it’s still fresh. I think he’s probably going to drop like in the fall, possibly October. But I’m not too sure.”

2010 was an amazing year for Drake. He dropped his platinum debut album, Thank Me Later, scored a gang of Top 40 hits, and solidified his spot as the best and brightest young talent in hip-hop. But if there’s one persistent claim that’s dogged him this year, it’s the one hip-hop purists (read: haters) always seem to make: Drake can’t rap. But it’s a claim that we’ve always found to be completely bizarre, because despite his heartthrob status and inclination to sing, that boy can spit! It’s always better to show than to tell, so to prove our point we went through all of his verses and picked The 25 Best Drake Verses of 2010.

Moment 4 Life is about 2 kids that grew up on the same block. They shared their dreams of making it as rappers. They laughed together, they cried together. One day they realize that their dreams have come to fruition. Though they know all things come to an end, they celebrate. They wish that they… could have this moment 4 LIFE.

The Young Money triumvirate of Lil Wayne, Drake and Nicki Minaj had a banner year filled with successful albums, buzzed about moments onstage and chart-toppers.
Drake compared the success of his and Minaj’s debuts with Weezy’s opening-week sales of Tha Carter III, saying each subsequent project further cemented the collective’s status.
“I think it’s crazy that somehow, some higher power brought all these individuals together,” Drake told MTV News on the set of Minaj’s “Moment 4 Life” video. “I remember being on the [tour] bus when Wayne played me Tha Carter III, which went on to sell a million copies in one week. Then it was Thank Me Later. It was this big pressure, and that went on to sell what it did.

Drake had a triumphant 2010, debuting at No. 1 with his first album Thank Me Later, and nabbing four Grammy noms, including Best New Artist and Best Rap Album nods.
At a sold-out holiday show in San Jose last week, put on by local radio station Wild 94.9 FM, the Toronto native took some time to thank those who made it all possible: his fans.
SPIN photog Misha Valdimirskiy tailed Drake at the show, shooting photos as the rapper signed autographs for children from the Make-A-Wish foundation and performed a hits-laden set to 19,000 screaming concertgoers.
