Last night Drake & Friends performed at Metropolis in Montreal. The show had been sold out for months and everyone was scrambling to get tickets for this anticipated show.

The opening act for Drake was his homie P.Reing from Toronto. I’ve been to a lot of shows in my life and I’ve never seen an virtually unknown opening act get so much love. I was really impressed with P.Reign’s stage presence and performance and how he engaged the crowd. He dropped a little unknown fact about himself that he was born in Montreal in the notorious Little Burgundy neighborhood then he shouted out all the other “hoods” and the crowd when nuts.

Drake arrive on the red carpet of the 21st Annual MuchMusic Video Awards at the MuchMusic HQ on Sunday (June 20) in Toronto, Canada.

The rapper who just released his debut album, Thank Me Later, won for best hip-hop video and best cinematography for “Successful”. He also performed “Over” at the event (video below).

Hip-hop’s MVP brought out the NBA’s MVP at Power 106’s Powerhouse 2010 concert at the Honda Center in Anaheim, Calif., on Saturday (June 19).

Fresh off the Lakers championship win, Drake introduced Kobe Bryant by saying, “Just know man when Kobe Bryant playin’, it’s motherfuckin’ over!” The two embraced onstage before Kobe returned the love: “We took it over this year, now it’s Drake’s turn,” he said before Drake performed “Over.”

Another one of the show’s acts, Trey Songz, later joined his friend Drizzy for “Successful.” Watch below.

Drake to Perform at Voodoo Fest in New Orleans

Drake will headline this year’s Voodoo Experience Festival, set to take place in New Orleans’ City Park from October 29-31. The Canadian rapper’s first studio album, Thank Me Later, hit stores earlier this week. Walmart Soundcheck has posted videos from Drake’s “Away From Home” tour stop at Club Nokia in Los Angeles last month, where he brought out his Young Money family including Nicki Minaj. MTV is also set to air “Drake: Better Than Good Enough,” a one-hour documentary on the hip-hop sensation, on June 23 at 10 p.m. EST.
